Pattaya songthaew route map, fares and how to ride in 2026

An original map of Pattaya's Beach Road loop, Jomtien and Naklua songthaew corridors, plus the 2026 shared fare, buzzer method, transfers and charter-price warning.

Pattaya songthaews, or baht buses, are shared pickup trucks running along common road corridors rather than buses that stop at a fixed station list. The most useful visitor corridors are the Beach Road southbound–Second Road northbound central loop, South Pattaya–Jomtien and Dolphin Circle–Naklua. Transfer when routes split.

The map is an original ThailandMate schematic based on Pattaya City's registered routes and practical visitor corridors. It is not a promise that every vehicle follows the entire line. The city document records five licensed lines: route 4 Bali Hai–Bang Lamung, route 5 Charoen Rat Village–Na Jomtien, route 6 Pattaya circle, route 7 North–Central Pattaya and route 6079 Naklua Market–Siam Country Club.

For central Pattaya, remember Beach Road southbound and Second Road northbound. The usual loop passes Dolphin Circle and Terminal 21, Central Pattaya and the Walking Street area before returning north on Second Road.

For Jomtien, vehicles commonly wait near the South Pattaya Road and Second Road junction and run via Thappraya Road. Do not assume one central vehicle continues to Jomtien; get off and confirm at the transfer point. For Naklua, choose a vehicle heading north from Dolphin Circle along Naklua Road.

Reports state that from 10 April 2026 the shared fare became THB 15 for 1–10 km and up to THB 20 for longer trips. Check the fare sign because operations can vary; older THB 10 advice predates the increase. Carry small cash.

Shared service and private charter are different. Wave down a vehicle already traveling your direction, board at the rear and do not negotiate a destination for a normal shared ride. Asking the driver to take you to a specific hotel can turn the ride into a charter. If chartering, agree the whole-vehicle total before departure.

To ride: wave, board from the rear, press the ceiling buzzer near your stop, get off safely and pay the driver per person in small cash. If the vehicle turns away from your route, ring and change vehicles. Do not stand on the rear step while moving.

For late nights, heavy luggage, children or seniors, or a time-critical airport or golf transfer, a pre-booked taxi can be safer and clearer. Fare or safety complaints can be reported to Thailand's Department of Land Transport hotline 1584 with the vehicle number, time and location.
