Direct Bali–Phuket Flights Make Island-Hopping Easier

TransNusa has started a new Bali–Phuket route with four weekly flights, making it easier to combine trips to both islands.

If you're planning a trip to Phuket, there is welcome news about a new air connection. The Tourism Authority of Thailand welcomed the first arrival of TransNusa's new direct Bali–Phuket service, which links two of Southeast Asia's best-known islands.

According to the official announcement, the route operates four times a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Flights depart Bali at 11:30 and arrive in Phuket at 14:35, while the return flight from Phuket leaves at 16:40. For travelers, this means less time spent transferring and more flexibility to combine beach relaxation with island travel.

Phuket is more than just a beach destination. The Tourism Authority of Thailand notes that Indonesian travelers can enjoy beaches, food culture, and wellness-style experiences in Phuket, and that mix is appealing to many visitors. On rainy days, you can swap an Old Town walk for a café stop and local food exploration, while clear days are ideal for island tours or scenic viewpoints.

This route also appears to be part of broader efforts to strengthen regional connectivity between Thailand and Indonesia. Official figures show 429,778 arrivals from Indonesia to Thailand from January 1 to September 7 this year. That number reflects official market data, but it does not represent individual crowd levels or seat prices.

A few practical tips are worth keeping in mind. After arriving at Phuket Airport, allow enough time for taxi transfers depending on your hotel location, and if you are staying by the beach, check in advance whether luggage storage is available before check-in. If you are combining Bali and Phuket in one trip, the food scene and night market atmosphere differ enough to make the comparison part of the fun.
